How to Improve Your Chances of Having Your Video Posted
I have a preference for YouTube videos
Three seconds into the video, you should be talking about the topic you selected.
Get straight to the point. Don't tell viewers that you're going to tell them something. Go ahead and just tell it.
Don't begin your video by displaying fancy graphics dancing around the screen, advertising your account. Get to the point.
Don't begin by introducing yourself, then pausing to play your fancy graphics dancing across the screen, advertising your account. Get to the point.
Don't ask viewers to like, subscribe, and follow. It wastes my viewing time. If viewers like your content, they will find you and stalk you to the ends of the earth. Get to the point.
Here is an example of how to get to the point. If I ask for a video about how to boil an egg, three seconds into the video, you should be talking about how to boil an egg. Don't tell me what an egg is, where to buy one, or why it may be good or bad for me. Tell me how to boil an egg. And, yes, I do count those seconds.
Don't use background music. Many people just plain suck donkeys when it comes to balancing background music and dialogue. You may be one of them and not know it.
I'm not looking for a Hollywood production and pretty faces—just useful information. In fact, you don't even have to show your face. It won't be on anyone's exam.
